Many fundraising activities and events at HCS are made possible by our parent volunteers. Volunteering keeps our tuition costs stable and allows you the opportunity to be connected to the education of your student(s). We encourage you to view the available opportunities through the link below.

Volunteering helps lower tuition costs and further establishes our partnership your student’s education. Different volunteering options are given point-values based on a variety of factors including commitment level and/or skill-level required.

Those who do not sign up for their required volunteer points will be charged an opt-out fee of up to $300 beginning in August 2026.
No. You may “opt out” of volunteer points and will see an opt-out fee of up to $300 added to your tuition payments for next school year.
The HCS Parents’ Club Board uses SignUpGenius as our official platform for organizing and managing volunteer opportunities throughout the school year. Whether it’s helping at events or supporting school programs, you’ll find all available volunteer slots posted on SignUpGenius. It’s quick and easy to sign up, and we appreciate every helping hand!
All funds collected from opt-out fees are funneled back into the Parents’ Club budget and used to reduce tuition costs, as well as cover additional expenses such as field trips, upgraded technology, sports equipment, musical instruments, and other requests that pop up throughout the year.
The opt-out fees are prorated at $60 for every 5 points. For example, if you sign up for 10 points out of 25, you would see a $180 fee on your tuition statement for the 15 points you did not sign up for.
Yes, you may sign up for points throughout the school year. If you were charged an opt-out fee, it will be reimbursed, based on how many points you get, before the last tuition statement.
Yes, many parents do sign up for more than the required 25 points and we are so grateful for this. However, we ask that you only sign up for 25 points during the first 48 hours after the sign-up forms go live to give everyone a chance to sign up. After that, you may sign up for anything that’s still available!
If you find yourself unable to fulfill your volunteer requirements, we ask that you find a substitute and contact the committee lead as soon as possible, to alert them of your issue. If you simply forget or don’t show up for your duties, those volunteer points may be deducted from your total points and you may have a prorated fee added to your tuition statement.
It’s our policy to pre-fill most “Lead” and committee positions as they are often on a rotating 3-year term. We also pre-fill some positions that require specific skills or training. If you desire a prefilled position, we recommend volunteering for that event or committee to get acquainted with the tasks and responsibilities. You may also contact the Committee Lead directly.
Anyone interested in being a room parent for the 25-26 school year should fill out this application form by May 16, 2025. We will contact applicants once class lists are finalized. Note: All room parent positions are worth 25 points, but we can not guarantee you will be selected as there are often more applicants than needed.
