Elementary

Elementary Paraprofessional

Hudsonville Christian School is seeking a motivated and caring individual to join our Elementary Educational Support Services (ESS) team as a paraprofessional. As a vital member of the ESS team, you will work closely with the ESS Coordinator and/or Special Education Teacher to support students who require specialized instruction.  Responsibilities include working with students individually and in small groups, assisting with the implementation of lessons, providing accommodations, and building positive relationships with students.

Candidates should hold a teaching certificate or have experience working in an educational setting. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching reading.  This is a part-time position, working 3–4 days per week.

Early Childhood

Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

Hudsonville Christian School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher for our 4’s Traditional Preschool program. This position meets Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings and is part of a Christ-centered school community committed to nurturing the hearts, minds, and faith of young children.

The ideal candidate loves working with preschool-aged children and creates a warm, engaging classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow. Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate learning experiences, supporting social-emotional growth, fostering kindergarten readiness, and building positive relationships with families and staff.

As a Christian school, we desire a teacher who is able to naturally share the love of Christ with students through daily interactions, Bible stories, prayer, worship, and Christ-centered modeling. Candidates should be supportive of the mission of Christian education and comfortable integrating faith into the preschool classroom in meaningful and age-appropriate ways.

4 Day Kindergarten Teacher (.8 FTE)

Hudsonville Christian Elementary School is seeking applicants for a 4 Day (.8 FTE/Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) Kindergarten teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Interested applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a valid teaching certificate. Varying levels of experience are welcome. We are looking for team-oriented candidates who have a strong love for Jesus and are passionate about working with all of God’s children. Please complete the application form to apply. Middle School

5th/8th Grade ELA/Foundations Teacher

Hudsonville Christian School is seeking applicants for a part-time, 5th grade ELA and 8th-grade Foundations teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The 5th grade Differentiated Instruction class works with groups of students on reading and writing, while the 8th grade Foundations class has a curriculum focused on healthy decisions, relationships, and career readiness. Ideal candidates would have a Bachelor’s degree in Education, but not required. This is an approximately 30% FTE position, with classes held from 1:15-2:40 every day. We are looking for someone who has a strong love for our Lord and Savior, is passionate about working with middle schoolers, and is team-oriented.

Elementary + Middle School

HCS Permanent Building Substitute (.6FTE)

Hudsonville Christian Elementary and Middle School are looking for a permanent substitute for three days per week. Unlike a traditional day-to-day sub, you are a guaranteed part of our staff family and you’ll provide consistency for our students and essential support for our teachers across both our Elementary and Middle School classrooms. This is the perfect role for someone who is flexible and enjoys both elementary and middle school learning environments. This is a salaried position (60% FTE).

How It Works

  • The Schedule: You are committed to Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday each week (days can be negotiable)
  • The Notification: Flexibility is key! You will be notified of your specific classroom assignment either the evening before or the morning of your shift.
  • The Consistency: Even though your classroom changes, your community doesn’t. You will build relationships with students and staff at both the elementary and middle school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute lesson plans left by the lead teacher with enthusiasm and integrity.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching styles to meet the needs of diverse age groups (Grades K-8).
  • Collaborate with school administration and grade-level teams.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times (recess, lunch, or hall duty) as needed.
  • If a substitute is not needed, be willing to work on some curriculum needs or fulfill miscellaneous needs during the day at the request of the building administrator.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Education degree preferred).
  • Certification: Valid Substitute Permit through EduStaff (HCS will pay for this training as needed)
  • Adaptability: The ability to switch gears and be flexible in a variety of classrooms.

Staff Positions

Middle School

Assistant Band Director

Hudsonville Christian School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Assistant Band Director to support our band program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education, enjoy working with middle school students, and be committed to fostering a positive and Christ-centered classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Band Director during rehearsals and classroom instruction
  • Assist with classroom management and student supervision
  • Lead and support small group instruction as needed
  • Provide encouragement and individualized assistance to students
  • Support the overall goals and mission of the school’s music program
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude consistent with Christian education values

Qualifications

  • Music Education degree preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with students in a music or educational setting is beneficial 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to read music and rhythm notation. The ideal candidate will be proficient on a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument   
  • Commitment to supporting a Christian school environment

Schedule

This is a part-time afternoon position from 12:15 PM to 2:45 PM on a rotating schedule:

  • Three days one week (M-W-F)
  • Two days the following week (T-Th)
  • Assist at concerts and other performances as needed
