Year 1 of the new Bible Curriculum
Last school year marked an exciting opportunity to challenge minds and lives for Christ as students began exploring Scripture through the new Love God, Love Others Bible curriculum. From making bricks and squishing grapes with their feet to learning Hebrew and Greek root words and stepping into biblical settings through immersive virtual-reality lessons, students discovered that God’s Word is not just something to study—it’s a cohesive story they are invited into. One parent shared, “The Bible is coming alive for them,” a reminder of our prayer that every student would grow to know and follow Jesus more deeply.
Known, Loved, and Supported
At HCS, every student matters. Last year, new middle school support groups helped students navigate challenges such as anxiety, friendship struggles, and family transitions, while Firehawk Fusion connected incoming middle school students with caring older peers to ease the transition. We also witnessed a beautiful picture of God’s love when an entire kindergarten class attended a classmate’s adoption hearing— celebrating the joy of being chosen, loved, and welcomed into a family, just as Christ welcomes us.
Academic Highlights
Learning came alive in countless ways last year. Students showcased their creativity and knowledge through projects like the 3rd Grade Michigan Museum, explored God’s world through hands-on discovery during Sensational Science Day, and continued to achieve strong academic growth in math and language arts, performing above national averages on MAP assessments.* We also laid the groundwork for Industrial Tech: Applied Manufacturing by securing the curriculum, technology partners, teaching staff, and startup funding needed to launch this innovative Middle School elective.

Volunteer Highlights
From collecting winter gear and toys to supporting local ministries and global missions, students across every grade level found ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Seventh graders invested over 400 volunteer hours building relationships with residents at the Laurels Nursing Home, while every classroom partnered with organizations near (such as Hand2Hand) and far (such as Freedom in Christ Ministry in Uganda). These experiences remind students that faith is not confined to the classroom—it is lived out through service and love for others.
Strength in Numbers
God continues to bless Hudsonville Christian School with a strong and growing community of families. In 2025-26, we welcomed 19 new families, maintained an outstanding 97% student retention rate, and served a total of 1,153 students across our Early Childhood through 8th-grade programs. We are grateful for the trust families place in HCS and look forward to partnering with them in the years ahead.
Volunteering & Financial Support
The HCS community continues to demonstrate remarkable generosity through both giving and service. Tuition assistance helped make Christian education accessible to 65 families last year, while generous donors fully funded new learning opportunities—including $137,000 to launch our Industrial Tech program. More than 630 volunteer roles were filled by parents and supporters who invested their time and talents throughout the year. Together, our community makes a lasting difference in the lives of our students.
Celebrating the Class of 2026
On May 28, 2026, we celebrated the graduation of 96 8th grade students. Retiring 7th grade teacher Lexi Roode encouraged the Class of 2026 to consider the legacy they will leave, asking, “Class of 2026, I’ve called you a class of young, intelligent, God- minded students. But what kind of name do you want to make for yourselves?” More than a graduation, this celebration was a joyful send-off for these students, equipped to carry Christ’s light into their high schools and wherever the LORD calls them.
