Early Release 

This week Friday, September 18 is an early release day.  Students will be dismissed at 11:10 AM for staff professional development.  Hudsonville Public buses will run as normal. Unity bus routes will not be available. 

Kids’ Corner

Friday, September 18, is our first Early Release day. Care in Kids’ Corner is available, but we do understand that many families will find alternative care for their child. If you plan to use Kids’ Corner for afternoon and after school care please complete this form by Tuesday, September 15.

School Board Meeting

The next monthly School Board meeting is scheduled for September 21. Please use this as a reminder to pray for our school leadership and administrators. Thanks for your continued support!

Moms in Prayer

The Moms in Prayer group meets at HCS on Fridays, 8:00-9:00 a.m., and we alternate between the elementary and middle school buildings each week. Come pray with us when you can, both spoken and unspoken prayers are welcome!  Friday, Sept. 18 we’ll meet in the conference room across from the office at the Middle School. We will be praying specifically for our Early Childhood staff, faculty, and students. Please check in at the office.  We can’t wait to see you there!

School Pictures

Elementary school pictures will be taken on September 22 & 23. Middle School students will have their pictures taken on September 24.  Picture packets will be sent home with students this week.

HCS Game Club

HCS Game Club is a structured social opportunity for students who enjoy learning and playing new games!  In addition to being fun and entertaining, each grade/division’s games are intentionally selected to develop real-world skills that are prevalent today in STEM-related careers.  Click HERE for more information and to register! Cookie Day Volunteer

Do you love cookies and helping make school traditions happen? We’d love your help! We’re looking for a Cookie Day co-lead to help make our Cookie Days a success! This fun volunteer will coordinate the cookie teams, help gather supplies, and oversee the baking and selling of cookies. Come be part of this sweet HCS tradition, and earn 25 points! Auction Committee Volunteer

The Parents’ Club Board is asking you to consider volunteering on the Auction Committee! We are in need of additional volunteers to help plan and facilitate the Auction that will take place in the spring of 2027! HCS Returnables Shed

You are invited to drop off your returnable cans and bottles to the recycling shed at any time!  The shed is located in the elementary school north parking lot off of Hillcrest Ave. Thank you for supporting our school!

Chapel

This Friday, September 18, Mrs. Schramm’s 3rd grade class will lead chapel at 10:05 AM  in the West Gym. Parents are welcome to join us and may enter through the west gym lobby doors. 

Young 5s, Kindergarten & 1st Grade Parent Orientation

Join us for an evening designed to give parents an inside look at what it means to Challenge Minds and Lives for Christ in Young 5s, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. We’ll share how we approach curriculum, faith formation, student support, independence, and behavior—all with the goal of helping your child grow in knowledge, faith, and confidence. Elementary Employment Opportunities

Crosswalk Safeties – You may have noticed the Parent Loop has gotten a makeover and crosswalks have been added for foot traffic to travel safely to and from the building. We are still looking for individuals who are available in the mornings from 7:30-8:00 and afternoons from 2:30 to 3:00 to monitor the crosswalks and help students get where they need to go safely. Chapel 

Students and staff will gather for chapel from 7:55-8:25 AM in the south gym on Tuesday and Friday. Parents are welcome to join us!

5th Grade Girls & Mothers Night 

Mothers/Other trusted females, please plan to attend the 5th Grade Girls Sex Ed. night with your daughter on Monday, October 5. An email was previously sent out with an invitation and additional information.  This informative evening will be taking place at 7:00 pm in the Middle School Orchestra room. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.

6th Grade Dunes Day

6th Grade students will be visiting Saugatuck State Park next Tuesday, Sept. 29 and Thursday, Oct. 1 to continue their study of the Dunes ecosystem. Students will be hiking through the state park and experiencing what each zone has to offer in this very unique ecosystem found right here in Michigan. This trip is a highlight for a lot of 6th grade students as they interact with their classmates, teachers, and the beautiful creation that the Lord has blessed us with.

Harvest Family Fun Day- Save the Date!

Join us on Saturday, October 3, from 3:00-5:00 rain or shine. Stay for the entire time, or come when you can! We would love to see everyone from preschoolers to 8th graders come out for doughnuts/cider/popcorn and cotton candy. Come  play fun games, jump in the bounce house, win awesome prizes and spend time together connecting as a school community! There is a small cost of $5 per child (adults are free).

We are asking for the following donations to use as prizes :

• Preschool-3rd grade – One or more boxes of cereal
• 4th – 8th grade – One 12 pack of pop

Items can be dropped off to the Administration Office starting Sept. 21st.

Employment Opportunity – Post Family Farm

Post Family Farm in Hudsonville is looking to hire energetic adults for seasonal work for our 2026 fall season. Our Fall season runs from September 8, 2026 – November 7, 2026. Opportunities include donut makers, tour guides, weekday Festival workers and Saturday Festival workers. Donut making involves working with several others in our bakery making donuts, filling orders and running the cash register. Tour guides take a group of children, teachers and parents around the farm both on and off a tractor (training provided). Festival workers may work in donuts, kettle corn, apple cannons, office, tickets, drive the pumpkin train or drive the tractor to the pumpkin patch. No previous experience is required for any position. Workdays and hours are very flexible to fit your schedule. Hourly pay range is $17 to $20.25 per hour.
