A message from HCS

Last Thursday evening, the bleachers were full—parents, grandparents, and friends all gathered to worship and celebrate with our 4 School students. From the sidelines, it was a joy to watch… not just the program, but the people. Moments like these are such a good reminder of God’s faithfulness and the gift of doing life together. We really do grow best in community.

And what a sweet picture of that growth we saw on stage! Our 4 School students have learned so much this year—letters, numbers, routines—but even more importantly, they are learning about God. They are discovering just how much He loves them and beginning to show that same love to their classmates (with plenty of practice along the way!).
The evening was meant to celebrate the community built in each classroom, but it also brought our theme, Follow His Footsteps, to life in the best way. Because if we’re honest… following Jesus can look a little like that stage did.

There was heartfelt worship. There was joy. There was wonder. And there were a few “creative” dance moves, some enthusiastic arm waving slightly off beat, and even the occasional tumble.

And isn’t that the point?

Following in His footsteps isn’t about getting every step exactly right. It’s about showing up with willing hearts, ready to love, worship, and grow—together.

The other day, a kinde
