John 15:4
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”
In John 15, Jesus speaks to his disciples about how the vine and branches are a picture of their relationship with Him. The word ABIDE in this verse means to maintain an intimate, uninterrupted connection with Jesus, which results in spiritual growth, obedience, and bearing fruit.

Each Wednesday it brings me joy to meet with girls who want to take a few moments to ABIDE in Jesus during their lunch break. We have described our time together in God’s word with an acrostic: Awe-filled wonder for God, Bearing fruit through the Holy Spirit, Informed by the word, Dependent on Jesus, Equipped to go and make disciples. We ask the Holy Spirit to teach us as we read a passage of scripture, and then during quiet individual reflection time we answer four simple questions about the passage. At the end of our time together, we share what we have seen in the passage and how we are going to put it into action. This is one of my favorite times of the week as I see the seeds of God’s word getting planted in the girls’ hearts, and I am encouraged by the way they are hearing from God.
Especially during this Lenten season, I invite you to ABIDE in the Vine today and throughout the week. How can you maintain an uninterrupted connection with Jesus? Whether it is through reading scripture, praying, singing a worship song, fasting, taking a walk in nature, or serving others (and so much more!), stay attached to the Vine and then you will bear much fruit.

Class Placement Requests

Through FACTS, HCS has the ability to more evenly distribute available tuition assistance funds based upon factual information the families provide in the application. Please note that any additional information provided in the comments section at the end of the application is very helpful when making the decision for distribution.
Parents who have children in more than one EOCS school need only to fill out the application one time — the information will be available to the schools where their children attend. The FACTS online website application is available now. Please contact FACTS at 1-866-315-9262 with any questions. The deadline for submitting this application is March 31. For registration please go to www.factsmgt.com.
