HOME COMMUNICATOR

This past Thursday we opened our doors to current and prospective parents at our Early Childhood Open House. I had the opportunity to speak with many parents as they look ahead, making plans for their child. Many different types of parents come to this night. Ones that are excited and knowledgeable, knowing exactly what they are signing up for. Ones who are curious and wondering, mulling over options. Ones who are anxious and unsure, not knowing what might be the best choice. I smile, because these parents are like the kids we welcome into our school each day.

These penguins were drawn by students in our 4 School program. Each one is different and unique. Each comes with its own strengths and tricky things. Kids come this way too, as do parents and families. In our classrooms we have students who are excited and ready to take on the world. We have students who are thoughtful and full of wonder about the world. We have students who are anxious and the world just feels too big. We see and know our students. We love them and have the privilege of sharing faith with them, telling them God’s story and our story. No matter what path you choose for your child, they will be known and loved and taught faith each day.

Each year at the open house a parent shares their experiences of HCS. In words that are so meaningful, this year’s parent shared this:

“One of the things that surprised us most was how fully our kids encountered God here. Not just during chapel. Not just during praise and worship. But in math lessons. In playtime. In conflict. In quiet moments. In big feelings. Faith wasn’t an ‘add-on’. It was woven into every part of their day.”

We pray for you parents, as you make decisions for your children. Know fully that we are here to walk beside you and partner with you in the faith and development of each unique, special, joyful part of your child.

In Christ,

Konni Lubbers
Early Childhood Director

Tuition Assistance – FACTS Program

Hudsonville Christian will again be participating in FACTS, a grant application program. Families who wish to apply for tuition assistance will need to use the FACTS application format online via their confidential website. The application fee will be paid by HCS. The FACTS organization will analyze the information of each applicant. Through FACTS, HCS has the ability to more evenly distribute available tuition assistance funds based upon factual information the families provide in the application. Please note that any additional information provided in the comments section at the end of the application is very helpful when making the decision for distribution.

Parents who have children in more than one EOCS school need only to fill out the application one time — the information will be available to the schools where their children attend. The FACTS online website application is available now. Please contact FACTS at 1-866-315-9262 with any questions. The deadline for submitting this application is March 31.
