HOME COMMUNICATOR
Last Thursday, we gathered for our Exploration Night Open House to share about how God is at work at HCS and to kick off early childhood enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year. Lots of families came to hear about our programs, walk our halls, and meet our teachers!
During the night, Betsy Haarsma, one of our HCS parents, shared how she has seen HCS as the intersection of faith and learning. She explained how her 3rd grader, 1st grader, and 4 Schooler have all grown in countless ways academically, and how she has seen their faith being nurtured daily through chapels, classroom worship, studying God’s Word and Creation, and through prayer.
”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deut. 6:4-9 NIV
One sweet story that Betsy shared was about her son who is in 4 School. Earlier this fall, Betsy had a big interview she had to do to get into nursing school, and she told her kids how nervous she was. Her son from the backseat exclaimed, “Mom, it’s okay to be nervous. But I have a verse from school for that. ‘When I am afraid I will trust in you.’” (Ps. 56:11)
What a gift to have Scripture written on the hearts of these little ones!! We are so thankful for the opportunity to walk alongside our students as they grow in their knowledge and their faith. As we study God’s world, learn letters and sounds, and learn how to interact with new friends and peers, HCS will continue to teach everything through the lens of Scripture!
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deut. 6:4-9

Moms in Prayer
We live in a culture that seeks to blind our children to the reality of God’s love for them. Praying with other moms for our children and our school breaks through these barriers, impacting them for Christ. This week Friday Moms in Prayer will be meeting at the Middle School 8:00-9:00 a.m. Check in at the main office and they will direct you where to go. We will be focused on praying for the staff and students in grades 1 and 2 this week. See you there!
The 8th Grade Presents “Haphazardly Ever After”
Get ready for an enchanting experience as our talented 8th grade students take the stage in their production of “Haphazardly Ever After”! This one-of-a-kind fractured fairy tale farce promises laughter, whimsy, and a touch of royal chaos. In “Haphazardly Ever After,” a kind king and queen deal with a royal family that’s anything but ordinary — four moody, obnoxious children who hilariously fall short of their royal titles. We invite you to see the fun unfold on stage and support our HCS students! Stay tuned for ticket information.

Families who wish to apply for tuition assistance will need to use the FACTS application format online via their confidential website. The application fee will be paid by HCS. The FACTS organization will analyze the information of each applicant. Through FACTS, HCS has the ability to more evenly distribute available tuition assistance funds based upon factual information the families provide in the application. Please note that any additional information provided in the comments section at the end of the application is very helpful when making the decision for distribution.
Parents who have children in more than one EOCS school need only to fill out the application one time — the information will be available to the schools where their children attend. The FACTS online website application is available now. Please contact FACTS at 1-866-315-9262 with any questions. The deadline for submitting this application is March 31.
