HOME COMMUNICATOR

Last week was a testament to the great community we have here at HCS, and we want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for your generosity and support during Teacher Appreciation Week. The lunches, treats, coffee, flowers, and other thoughtful gifts were appreciated and testified to the relationship between our educators, students, and families.

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Matthew 18:20 NIV

We believe that education is a partnership between teachers and parents, guided by God, and your participation in Teacher Appreciation Week exemplifies this partnership beautifully. Together, we create a nurturing environment where students can thrive and succeed.

Thank you once again for your generosity and support. We are truly fortunate to have such an amazing community—a community with each other and, more importantly, a community with God our Father.

Jenny Gorter
Director of Educational Support Services

Faces and Our Culture Program – Meeting Next week!

Our school has been part of an amazing cultural exchange program for Guatemalan students for years, and we’re excited to keep it going! Faces And Our Cultures provides Guatemalan students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in our community for eight enriching weeks. Throughout the years, our campus has welcomed some Guatemalan students, many of whom have created a special bond with their host families. To become cultural ambassadors, participants undergo a thorough selection process and extensive preparation throughout the year. Each child will be matched with a student close in age and same gender. The host family provides homestay for 8 weeks, making them part of the routine, activities, rules, curfews, house chores as another member of the family. Hudsonville Christian provides lunches, school materials, and school-related activities. For those interested in learning more about the Faces program, please register here and join us for an in-person informational meeting with Sandy Cardona, Program Coordinator on Monday, May 20th at 10:30 a.m.
